Nightingales are named so because they frequently sing at night. The name has been used for well over 1,000 years, being highly recognizable even in its Anglo-Saxon form - 'nihtingale'. It means 'night songstress'.
The title came from my dad (he is brilliant at helping me out when i am stuck!). when i said the colours made me think of sultry nights. you know. slightly humid warm nights but not too much. just well nice romatcic kinda evenings
. I was/am bored with the regular title of "sultry night" Midnight blue" etc.. but nightingale making notion of the lush sulty night, the song, the romantic evening just seemed a brilliant match here
